The cast of Netflix’s Sabrina reboot continues to expand, with two other big roles now being set. According to Deadline, Doctor Who alum Michelle Gomez and newcomer Chance Perdomo have joined the upcoming Archie property as series regulars.
Gomez has been tapped to play Mary Wardell, who will also take on the role of Madam Satan, one of Sabrina’s big bads in the comics. Warner Bros. TV, Netflix and Archie Comics describe the show’s take on the character as follows:
“Mary Wardell, Sabrina’s favorite teacher and mentor at Baxter High. When she is possessed by the devil’s handmaiden, Madam Satan, Ms. Wardell turns into a sultry, cunning manipulator, always trying to lure Sabrina down the Path of Night.”
Perdomo, will play Sabrina Spellman’s (Kiernan Shipka) cousin, Ambrose, who has also appeared in the comics. This is what they revealed about the mysterious cousin:
“Ambrose Spellman, Sabrina’s warlock cousin from England. Placed under house arrest by the Witches Council, Ambrose is forbidden from leaving the funeral home where he lives with the Spellman women. Witty, puckish and pan-sexual, he is one of Sabrina’s partners in crime, always up for mischief.”
Gomez and Perdomo join Shipka as well as Jaz Sinclair who was recently cast as Rosalind Walker. With production set to start next month, sooner or later we’ll know who is playing Harvey Kinkle as well as the famous Spellman aunts!
